I just stumbled on your post regarding Stump's accident. I was a high school age friend of Don's. I know he lost an uncle in a C-130 during Vietnam and that his Dad was a P-3 NFO. Don always said he wanted to be a surgeon so I was shocked to learn that he pursued Naval Aviation and was lost all at about the same time. I can't imagine what his father went through. I'm about 6 mos from retiring as a USAF C-130 driver. Sure wish I had a chance to see him fly. Ken
